Shawanda Erby, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate

Children • Families • Adults • Community-Centered Care

You’re here because something isn’t working the way it used to—or maybe it never quite did. Maybe your child is struggling and you’re running out of answers. Maybe your family feels disconnected, or the weight of what you’ve been carrying is finally catching up with you. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know: you don’t have to figure it out alone.

I’m Shawanda, and I’ve spent my career walking alongside children, families, and adults through some of life’s most difficult chapters—from child welfare cases and hospital rooms to schools and community programs. That experience taught me something important: healing isn’t just about what happens in a therapy session. It’s about understanding the whole picture—the systems, the relationships, and the real-life pressures that shape your day-to-day.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

I’m warm, I’m direct, and I’m in your corner. My approach is grounded in empathy and built on practical strategies you can actually use in your real life—not just talk about in session.

Together, we’ll work on:

• Building coping and emotional regulation skills that stick

• Strengthening your confidence and sense of self • Navigating the stress of parenting, family dynamics, and relationships

• Finding your footing during major life transitions

• Setting goals that feel realistic, strengths-based, and truly yours

I use cognitive-behavioral strategies and individualized planning because I believe therapy should fit you—not the other way around. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for something to shift, we’ll build a path forward together.

Who I Work With

I especially enjoy working with:

• Children and teens navigating behavioral or emotional challenges

• Parents who feel overwhelmed and need support—not judgment

• Families working through conflict, transitions, or communication breakdowns

• Adults carrying the weight of trauma, stress, or systemic barriers

• Anyone who’s been let down by “the system” and needs someone who actually gets it

Why I Do This Work

Before I ever sat in a therapy chair, I was in the field—responding to child welfare crises, coordinating care in hospitals, supporting students in schools, and connecting families to the resources they needed to move forward. That frontline experience gave me something you can’t learn from a textbook: a deep understanding of how to show up for people in their hardest moments with both compassion and clarity. Outside the office, I’m passionate about community leadership and mentoring—especially programs that empower girls and women to see their own strength and step into their potential.

Ready to Take the First Step?

You don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out. If something in what I’ve shared resonates with you, that’s reason enough to connect.

I’d be honored to walk this road with you.
